We’re delighted to announce that [gawr-juhs] has been selected to create the branding and identity for Bholcàno – a new independent coffee chain – that will be seeking planning permission from the City of Edinburgh Council to construct its first outlet close to the summit of Arthur's Seat.
Entrepreneur April Amad explained. “Bholcàno will cater to the thousands of tourists and city residents who scale Edinburgh’s extinct volcano each year. We hope that very soon they will be able to enjoy a freshly-made cappuccino, latte or americano as they survey the panoramic views of the city below. Our team did extensive market research from 2016 to 2017, and the majority of visitors were in favour of a coffee shop near the summit.
We are fully aware that Arthur’s Seat is an area of outstanding natural beauty, and by blending the architecture of our outlet with the surrounding landscape, believe our proposals are sympathetic to the area. By also including features like accessibility ramps, we know Bholcàno could become a destination to be enjoyed by all.”
Creative Director of [gawr-juhs], Derek Green, said “We feel very privileged to have been chosen to create the branding and identity for this unique venture. If planning is approved, we truly believe that Bholcàno will be a welcome addition to this iconic landmark in the heart of Scotland’s capital. It’s great that April Amad, and her marketing team, have selected a local creative agency to work with them on this project.”
A second Bholcàno coffee shop, to be constructed near the summit of Berwick Law in East Lothian, is already in development.
